Supervision
Supervisor and therapist working together on complex issues

I have many years’ experience providing ongoing, formal supervision (plus informal, as-needed consultation) to other psychologists, schema therapists, CBT therapists, clinical associates and counsellors. I have also supervised psychiatric nurses and occupational therapists in their use of psychological therapies such as CBT to structure and focus their work. I encourage self-awareness and reflection in my supervisees but like to think that I'm also a practical supervisor! I want to provide you with a space to think and feel, plus useful tools and ideas you can use in your very next session. When therapists care deeply about their work - as most do - there is also a risk of burnout. For this reason, I believe that supervision should have a supportive element and be a place where supervisees can feel safe to talk about their work
